Peter
Broelman is an editorial cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator.
In 2005
Peter was awarded the coveted Gold Stanley for Cartoonist Of The Year at
the Australian Cartoonists’ Association’s 21st
annual Stanley Awards held in the NSW Blue Mountains. It is the first
time a South Australian-based cartoonist has won the Gold Stanley.
Peter
was also recognised by his peers when awarded the Stanley Award for
Editorial Cartoonist Of The Year for the second consecutive year.
Peter is the editorial cartoonist for a host of regional newspapers in
Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
Peter kicked off his career at The News in 1990 and has since
contributed to a host of publications that have included People, TV Week,
Sunday Mail, MAD, Cracked, Reader's Digest and Australasian Post and
Australian Provincial Newspapers.
Peter has also been a court artist (Network
Ten), comic strip artist (Australia, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden)
and corporate caricaturist.
Peter is the President of the
Australian Cartoonists' Association - the
world's oldest cartoonist organisation - www.cartoonists.org.au
He still hates going over the line when he colours in.
