Peter Broelman kicked
off his career at The News in 1990 and has since contributed to a
host of publications that have included People, TV Week, Sunday
Mail, MAD, Cracked, Reader's Digest and Australasian Post.
Peter has also been a court artist (Network Ten), comic strip
artist (Australia, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden) and
corporate caricaturist.
His first love is editorial cartoons where opinion is just as
important as irreverence.
Peter is the President of the Australian Cartoonists'
Association - the world's oldest cartoonist organisation.
In November 2004 Peter was recognised by his peers for his
editorial work for APN News and Media and
was awarded the ACA's Stanley Award for Editorial Cartoonist
Of The Year. It was Peter's first major award and second time as a
finalist for Cartoonist Of The Year.
In 2005 Peter was again recognised for his editorial work with his second
editorial Stanley Award. This was followed up with the Gold Stanley for
Cartoonist Of The Year, the first time a South Australian received the
award.
He still hates going over the line when he colours in.
